The Board of The John and Helen Villaume Foundation has announced that the Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts, Inc. has been selected to receive one of the Foundation’s 2016 community grant awards.
Meica Drake, Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of Merchandise Committee as well as Randy Kohrs, Board Member and Chair of Music and Production and Lisa Champeau, Board Member and Co-Chair of Media and Public Relations, on behalf of Honesdale Roots & Rhythm, received a check in the amount of $2,500.00 from Villaume Foundation board member, Paul Edwards.
Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts, Inc. is a non-profit program dedicated to promoting and developing music and arts in the greater Honesdale community through a free music festival held yearly in Honesdale. This music festival features a wide variety of international and national musical styles and also offers children’s activities and also provides a platform to promote and expand local business development. The John and Helen Villaume Foundation established by Honesdale natives, John and Helen Villaume, is dedicated to benefit charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational programs within Wayne County. Since its inception, the Foundation has made awards totaling over $1,000,000.00 with Wayne Bank managing the account in the Wealth Management and Trust Services Division of Wayne Bank.
