(Honesdale, June 1, 2016)…Geared for families with children of all ages\u2014the \u201cyoung at heart\u201d\u2014the Tunes & Tales portion of the 11th<\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival on June 18th<\/sup> will feature two popular talents of past years:\u00a0 Native American Little Bear and singer-guitarist Dave Matsinko.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tunes & Tales, which runs from 11am \u2013 4pm, takes place in the courtyard of the Central United Methodist Church at Church and 11th<\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>Streets, Honesdale, adjacent to the festival\u2019s Food Vendors Row and the main stage in Central Park. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Little Bear will offer a unique and authentic look into Native American heritage with dances and music from the tribes of the Five Nations at 12 noon and 2pm. \u00a0Folk musician Dave Matskino will sing traditional folk songs from the hills of Pennsylvania while playing the guitar, old time banjo, mandolin and dulcimer at 11am and 4pm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 Experience daily life in the 1800s with a \u201cHands-on Homestead.\u201d \u00a0Dress up like a homesteader, touch real artifacts or play at a train table\u00a0<\/span>
\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 Become a junior archaeologist for the day! Talk to Pennsylvania archaeologists, dig up artifacts and excavate your own buried treasure\u00a0<\/span>
\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 Play old-time games like ugly apple bobbing, potato sack races and bean bag toss\u00a0<\/span>
\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 Make a take-home craft of your own\u2014 a Lenape noise maker or a homestead clothes pin doll\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
